Fun Night

Don't forget Fun Night on Saturday at the Middle School.  The garden basket for the third grade is shown below.  Also, we are tying to get a tied quilt done for the auction.

Stations

This week we created new flowers for our bulletin board, finished up math and played some multiplication games along with using games on the computer. Several kids checked in on the eagles...two eaglets have hatched!

Science

This week the kids did their own experiments with the Water Cycle.  A lot of interesting facts were discovered!  The kids also started their final test which is writing a story about the journey of a raindrop.

Math

We continue to work on fractions, learning about equivalent fractions and how to write a mix numeral.  Remember to practice the 1/2 sheet multiplication facts EVERYDAY.  These are a good way to practice for our timed tests.

Fun Night

On Saturday, March 31st from 5-8 PM KE will be holding their annual Fun
Night! Please join us for an evening of fun, food, raffle, and games! This
year Tanner Miller, former MP Golden Hawk Football Player, and current Iowa
Hawkeye, will be on hand to sign autographs! We hope to see you there!

Remember...we need our supplies for our Garden Basket by Wednesday!

Old Creamery Theater

This afternoon we were visited by the Old Creamery Theater from Amana.  They performed several short skits showing the kids how to be good friends.

Music in our Schools Month

Friday is our mini-concerts and today Kyra and Emily shared a song with the group.  Well done!

Hills Bank visits with their baby chicks

Cindy Oldfield and Tyler Coblentz visited the third grade classes today to share about their baby chicks they have at the bank.  They read a story about Charlie (one of the baby chicks) and his life cycle.  It fit in perfectly with us watching the Eagles, and we had a great discussion comparing an Eagle's life cycle to a chick's life cycle.

Music Concert

Great job last night!  Enjoyed seeing the kids' art pictures too!

Reading

This week we wrapped up our Theme 5 and we will be taking the Theme test next week.  For guided reading, Mrs. Bender's class is working on a variety of Ramona books.  Mrs. Brenneman's class is finishing up Dear Levi.

For Mrs. Bender's class...remember to return the purple reading folder at least once a week!
