Our shared story this week, Two Days in May, was a realistic fiction story. Ask your student to summarize this story for you, and to have him/her tell you the "big problem" and how it was resolved. Skills this week included sequencing and making judgements. There was a story in the news regarding a couple in Indiana who cared for and raised an injured baby deer that correlated well with our reading story. Students watched a news clip about the real life story, and wrote on their kidblogs their opinion of the consequences the couple is facing for illegally caring for the deer.
