Reading with Mrs. Bender

We wrapped up our Theme Test this week so reviewed several skills.  The kids worked in groups creating a story map about "The Island-below-the-Star" and did outlines about "A Wild Ride."  "A Wild Ride" was the favorite story this week as it was about two young boys' travels across the Eastern United States.  They began on horseback, but ended driving a car they bought!  (The boys were 10 and 6!)  Lots of discussion on that one!  Skill work focused on outline, character traits, VCCV patterns, Analogies, Homonyms and Possessives.
