This week's spelling words all contained the -ought or -aught spelling patterns, which are quite "tricky." We continued our study of pronouns, and students practiced selecting the correct pronoun to use depending on whether it is a subject or object pronoun.

Students also began a new writing project about finding lucky clover to correlate with St. Patrick's Day.  For this project, students are learning to edit their own work.  To help with the editing process, students read their stories with a buddy and discussed the good parts of each piece of writing, as well as what the author could change to make it better.  We'll be publishing these stories next week.
