Spelling words for the week focused again on short and long vowel spelling patterns. The grammar focus was identifying subjects and predicates, as well as identifying and classifying common nouns,
Students also corrected their friendly letters using the edited copy of their draft. We discovered that using a word processing program makes it very easy to correct mistakes, and students were happy to not have to retype their whole letter. Once the letters were corrected, students printed their final copy and were able to "deliver" the letter to the recipient.
