As you may have already heard from your child, we had a very exciting day
today! Today marked the 100th day of school, and we had our Reach for the
Stars Reading assembly. The kids were VERY excited to find out who would
get to throw a pie in Mr. Cayton's face and to see the pie throwing take
place.
Sara ODonnell, KE Booster member and coordinator of RFTS, recognized the classrooms with the highest percentage of participation and average number of minutes read. Those classes earned cookie parties!
Next students who read more than 1,000 minutes were photographed to have their picture int he papers. Third graders included Stanley, Kaysen, Madi, Em, Steven, Joey, Vinnie, Cade, Abbi, Karsen, Gibson, Myah, Sarah, Hannah, Connor, Amber, Jake, Ethan, and Austin.
Finally, the pie throwers were chosen from the top readers from each class. Our top readers
in third grade were Stanley, Emily M, Vinnie, and Austin. Vinnie was one of
the lucky ones who got to throw a pie!
Sara ODonnell announcing the winning classrooms
Emma (4th grade) got to throw the first pie
Kaitlyn (5th grader) throwing the 2nd pie
Wyatt (K) threw the 3rd pie
And our own Vinnie (3rd grade) got to throw the final pie!
Thanks to everyone for participating in this fun event, and for encouraging our students to READ. :)
