Reading with Mrs. Bender

In our novel unit, Dear Levi, one of our characters likes to tell Tall Tales. This week the kids worked on reading Tall Tales such as Johnny Appleseed, Paul Bunyan, John Henry, Pecos Bill and Slue-Foot Sue.  They also made characters to go along with their Tall Tale.

We finished up our story "Seal Surfer" and also completed "Two Days in May."  Skills this week were compare and contrast, suffixes, prefixes, and making decisions.
