Social Studies

We wrapped up the "Our Community" unit by playing a game to review the content, and then taking the unit test.  We have also spent time learning about the life Martin Luther King, Jr., and are doing a writing project based on his "I Have A Dream" Speech in language.  The students have found it very interesting to learn about the struggles African Americans faced in our country's past.  We are watching a great movie, "The Story of Ruby Bridges," over the course of the next few weeks for film festival to help us learn more about what it would have been like to live in the time period.
