Science by Madeline Nonnemann

In science our main focus is on electricity.  On November 12, 2012, we tried to light lightbulbs with tape, a battery, a lightbulb, and wire.  This is how you do it.  So...first you get all the tools listed above. Second, you make a loop on the metal part of the wire.   Third, using a small piece of tape, tape the loop to the negative (-) end of the battery.  Next set the battery so the positive (+) side is facing upwards.  Then wrap the metal part of the wire around the metal part of the lightbulb.  Finally put the lightbulb on the positive end of the battery.  I hope you enjoy your glowing lightbulb!  We've been having a pretty fun time in science this time of year!  It's all just static electricity, lightning, lightbulbs and lots of energy.  Science is awesome!  Especially in the month of November.  Yea, science!

*You may be noticing your bulb missing from your flashlight as that is the type of bulb we were using in class, along with a D-cell battery.  They all said they were going home to try it!

**We also had a lot of fun using the Energy Sticks.  The kids had to figure out how to stand to make a complete circuit in order to light up the Energy Sticks.
