Social Studies

We continue to study map skills in social studies.  This week students learned how high and low places can be shown on a map.  Relief maps are a really cool way to show high and low places, and other maps use symbols or shading to show mountains and hills.  We practiced showing high and low places with color coding and symbols.

We're also keeping up on current events in our country and in our world with Time for Kids!  Here students are reading an article about hurricane Irene in TX, and completing a cause and effect chart.
