Students - remember to label all post titles when blogging as either
Journal (this is for a "free time"or just for fun entry)
Science (for science reflections)
Reading (for reading reflections/assignments/book reports)

Updated (10-25-12)

• We have added a "Guest" login feature to our blog.  Parents/friends/family members are welcome to log in as Guest (listed as the last choice in the login menu), and use the password "123" to leave comments on the blog.  As with all entries, a teacher will need to approve any comments made by a guest before they will appear on the blog site.

• Students are now allowed to leave COMMENTS outside of class time, but should not post new blog posts.

• As always, all comments should be written in the form of complete sentences, related to the post, and should be helpful and kind.  Comments not meeting our criteria will not be published.

Why are we blogging?
Blogging will allow our students the opportunity to develop their writing skills as well as to write for an audience. Students will write “posts” pertaining to books they are reading, science reflections, and will also be allowed to use their blogs as a journal.  Students will also be encouraged to read posts written by their peers and to leave comments/provide feedback on their writing.  All posts and comments will be approved by a teacher prior to being posted for all to read.

We are hopeful that blogging will encourage our students to write, provide them an opportunity to publish their writing, become a way to both give and to receive constructive feedback, as well as become a forum for learning internet and blogging etiquette.
