We finished up Dear Levi this week and Austin made it to Oregon. However, the story did not end the way the kids thought it was going to! (At least we had a happy ending.) Reuben, one of our characters in our story, was a great story teller, so the kids wrote stories about three different types of birds. We had stories about hawks, sea gulls, red wing blackbirds, Eagles, blue jays, Puffins and many more. What fun stories to listen to!
In our anthology we read "Yunmi and Halmoni's Trip" which was about a young girls who travels with her grandmother to Korea. Our skills focused on making inferences based on the character's feelings, writing a summary and possessive nouns.
