Reading with Mrs. Bender

This week we spent time reviewing for our theme test next week.  We read two stories out of our anthology.  One was called "Alejandro's Gift" and the other was called "The Living Desert."  Since our main skill this unit was compare and contrasting, we used this skill with the stories.  One was a nonfiction text, the other a fictional text.  The kids enjoyed learning about the many desert animals and the Saguaro cactus.

Poetry was another concept we reviewed this week.  We did some coral reading with the poems, and also wrote one of our own about unusual sea animals.  Very interesting!

Mr. Slabaugh visited and showed us how to import our pictures for our Laura Ingalls Wilder project.  Look for these on the blog.
