Reach for the Stars Reading Incentive

We've got 2 days of reading under our belts for the RFTS reading program!  Third graders have done a good job remembering to bring their yellow packets each day so that they can record minutes read on the calendar.

We know it may be a little confusing, but it was suggested that we record the previous day's minutes read at school each morning, so that is the procedure we are using in third grade. (To simplify our record keeping, Mrs. B and Mrs. H. meet and add up the minutes read in each subject area and present a total average minutes for the entire third grade to record.)  We have posted our at school reading minutes in each classroom so that students who forget their packet are able to go back and record minutes read at school later when they do bring their packet to school.

If you have any questions, please contact your child's homeroom teacher.  Remember - the main focus is to encourage children to spend time READING. :)

(PS - remember, RFST minutes can ALSO be recorded on students' reading logs for reading class -- sort of a 2 for 1!)
