We kicked off theme three, Incredible Stories, with our shared reading story, Dogzilla, by Dav Pilkey.  We had fun reading this crazy fantasy story that is modeled after the movie Godzilla.  Students identified elements of the story that were make believe, as well as elements that could be real.  Ask your student to summarize the story for you, and to tell you some of the real/make believe parts.

Students had a great time constructing paper bag volcanoes (modeled after the volcano in the story), and had an even better time making the volcanoes errupt!
