Social Studies by Ella Wade

We have been learning about government. We have been learning about the constitution and about voting.  We have been learning about the Democrats and Republicans.  The donkey stands for the Democratic party and the elephant stands for the Republican party.

{From Mrs. H. - we discussed briefly how political parties were formed, and how each party got its mascot - ask your child the stories. :)  We also learned about presidential slogans from past elections, as well as the slogans for each candidate for the current election.  3B has gotten to "vote" in our mock election, and 3H will vote on Monday.  We our anxious to see how our election results will compare to the actual election next week.}
