Reading

We've completed our first theme (unit) in reading!  Students wrapped up the "Off to Adventure" theme by reading and comparing two stories:  a nonfiction story, Sybil Luddington's Midnight Ride, and a fiction story, Radio Rescue.  We also reviewed comprehension skills such as cause and effect, summarizing, and sequencing.  Students then took their first theme test, which assesses reading comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, grammar, and writing skills.  Look test results in next week's Friday folder!
